We envision downtown Pilot Point as the heart of the community; where history is preserved, business thrives, and visitors feel welcome.

We work diligently to bring visitors and residents alike to downtown to shop, eat and enjoy their time in Pilot Point. We offer festivals in downtown, ranging from the wildly-popular Bonnie & Clyde Days and Christmas on the Square to our modest Pilot Point Markets. All are invited to come enjoy our events.

Main Street Program Information

The Texas Main Street Program began in 1981. Affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Texas Main Street Program is among the most successful downtown revitalization programs in the nation.

Each year, the Texas Historical Commission selects up to five Texas cities and urban areas as Texas Main Street Cities. The Texas Historical Commission selected Pilot Point as one of three Texas Main Street cities for the year 2002. Selected communities are eligible to receive a range of services.

Vision Statement

Pilot Point retains the viability, the structural design and the values of an historic small Texas town, while reaping the advantages of its proximity to the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex.

Pilot Point sustains the essential elements of small town living by preserving and celebrating its past, revitalizing its existing structures and, at the same time, fostering an environment of entrepreneurialism.

Pilot Point succeeds through pragmatic historic preservation, rigorous zoning and code enforcement, ingenious marketing and resourceful financial engineering.

Pilot Point thinks bigger than its physical size. We promote and safeguard our surrounding horse industry, encourage the conscientious use of our lake and, most of all, preserve and revitalize our historic town square and surrounding district.

Pilot Point protects and cultivates an incomparable sense of place, our most treasured asset.

With this vision Pilot Point is a wonderful home for current residents, an appealing alternative for future inhabitants and distinctive destination for visitors.

Mission Statement

The Pilot Point Main Street Program will use the 4-point approach to revitalization (organization, promotion, design, and economic vitality) to encourage reinvestment and preservation of the historic downtown area.
