General Information
Thank you for choosing Pilot Point. Whether you are opening or remodeling your business or building or adding to your residence, Our goal is to provide you with the best service possible.
The building permits and inspection division’s mission is to facilitate the land development process by applying the highest standards of health, safety and construction industry practices. The division also provides professional and courteous customer service to new and existing developments in the city
A Building Permit is required for any alteration or construction work.
Before a building permit will be issued, the Building Department, the Fire Inspector, the City Engineer and the City Public Works Department must approve all plans and documents related to the permit application.
All Contractors performing work within the City of Pilot Point's jurisdiction must be registered with the City and provide proof of commercial general liability insurance for claims of property damage or bodily injury. Contractors may now register on line at https://public.mygov.us/pilotpoint_tx.
Any structural change within the City of Pilot Point that requires a building permit will also require a Certificate of Occupancy. No individual or corporation will be permitted to occupy any structurally changed building without said Certificate.

Permit Submittal
Permit Submittal can now be done on line by going to the following link https://public.mygov.us/pilotpoint.tx. Permit documents will still be accepted in person at City Hall. Submittal documents should be complete to expedite plan review and permit issuance.
Plan Review
Countywide Inspection Services will be conducting residential and commercial plan reviews. Countywide Inspection Services will contact the applicant if revisions are needed. You may contact Countywide Inspection Services Review Department for the status of your permit at 855-220-0470.
Inspection Requests
Please contact Countywide Inspection Services by phone on their inspection request line, 940-521-0470, or email SAFEbuilt Inspection Services to request inspection(s). When requesting an inspection, please have your permit number and site address ready for inspection request. Inspections requested by 5 p.m. Monday through Friday will be performed the next business day.
Annual Permits
The City of Pilot Point requires renewal of some permits yearly. These permits include Alarm System Permits, Alcohol Sales Permits, Animal Registrations, and Health Permits. For information on these permits see Forms and Applications.
